Fiji Tours & Sightseeing

Fiji tours are split into two: day cruises aroud the stunning Mamanuca and Yasawa islands, or adventure tours on the main island of Viti Levu. A combination of these tours gives a fantastic overview of the islands.

Day Cruises from Nadi

Coral Cat, Port Denarau. Small 20-metre yacht with boom net across bow for a spot of dolphin watching at the Malolo Barrier Reef and snorkelling at nearby Black Rock.

Seaspray, Port Denarau. The first leg is catching the South Sea Cruise fast catamaran to Mana Island where you transfer to the two mast schooner venturing to the outer Mamanucas – it takes almost three hours from Nadi but you get to walk on the fine white sands of Modriki, location of the film Castaway, starring Tom Hanks. You also visit the traditional fishing village of Yanuya where a shell market and kava ceremony are put on by the locals (except Sunday).

Ra Marama, Port Denarau. This excellent value day trip cruises along the sheltered coast of Viti Levu to the inner Mamanuca coral cay of Tivua. There’s a glass bottomed boat for coral viewing, good snorkelling on the outer reef and kayaks to explore the lagoon. With enough wind, the seven sails will be rigged and the staff will sing along to guitars for a day of merry-making.

Awesome Adventure , Port Denarau. Take a 2hr 30min cruise to Waya Island in the southern Yasawas for a village visit and snorkel around the gorgeous sand spit, or head 30-minutes further north to the beautiful beach setting at Botaira.

South Sea Combo Cruise, Port Denarau. Good sightseeing introduction to the small island resorts of the Mamanucas – the best views are from the top level open air deck and you pull up sufficiently close to three tiny coral cays to see into the bures. BBQ lunch is served on South Sea Island before heading back home. Alternatively, you can hop off the cruise at any of the resorts along the way to spend 5—6hrs on the island, lounging on the beach or snorkelling.

Adrenalin Sports

Adrenalin Watersports, Denarau Island . Parasailing and jet ski safaris from the beach infront of Sofitel Fiji .

Jet Fiji, Port Denarau. Thrilling ride along the tight mangrove estuaries of the Nadi River with 360 degree spins along the way.

Tandem Skydive, Nadi Airport . Freefall from over 4,000 metres for up to 60 seconds with a pro sky diver and land on the beach at Wailoaloa or Denarau.

Scenic Flights

Island Hoppers, Nadi Airport . The best views of the islands and mountains are on large window scenic helicopter flights.

Nature and village tours

There are no public botanical gardens in Nadi but the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, ten minutes drive north of Nadi Airport, has a wonderful collection of orchids and other flowering plants amongst its lowland forest trails. For hiking, the best opportunity is at Koronayitu National Park , thirty minutes drive inland from Lautoka City . Otherwise, there are short walking trails at the Nausori Highlands lookout with breathtaking views. The following companies offer village or wilderness day tours around Nadi.

Adventure Fiji, N adi Airport . This full day scenic tour to the Nausori Highlands with a 2hr downhill trek to Yavuna Village provides an excellent rounded introduction into Fijian life.

Great Sights, Nadi Airport. Two half day 4WD village tours to either Abaca or Navilawa, both north of Nadi. Alos offers a guided tour of the Garden of the Sleeping Giant, Viseisei Village, Nadi Temple and Nadi Market.

Pehicle, Nadi Town. If you’re interested in Indian culture, this is the only tour visiting an Indian settlement where you can sample curries, roti and chutneys. There’s also a full day tour to Lauwaki Village on the road to Lautoka with a kava ceremony, lovo lunch and weaving instruction.

Viti Eco Tours. The 2hr drive to delightful Navala Village is well worth the effort just to walk amongst the 200 traditional thatch houses but there’s also pleasant sightseeing along the way. A shorter half day tour visits Nalesutale Village, 30mins drive from Nadi along the Sabeto Valley with a short forest hike to a small waterfall and village lunch.

Pacific Harbour adventure tours

Jetski Tours Pacific Harbour . For the breeze in your hair, try the four hour thrilling ride to Beqa Lagoon on a guided jet ski tour, circumnavigating Beqa with a picnic lunch on one of its deserted beaches and a snorkel on one of the stunning reefs.

Discover Fiji Tours, Navua Town . A fantastic combination of day and overnight tours from a 4WD inland scenic drive and village visit, trekking in the highlands, river canoeing or abseiling. Day tours depart Navua River 10.30am and return 4pm with pick-ups from Nadi, Suva and all Coral Coast hotels from 7am. A one night village stay option with activities can be extended to a seven day Namosi adventure.

River’s Fiji, Pacific Harbour . American owned and organized, the inflatable kayak tour heads to Nakavika Village by 4WD for a kava ceremony and then journeys for two hours down the gently running Luva River with occasional chutes and a short trek to a stunning waterfall. The more thrilling year-round white water rafting on the Upper Navua passes over tantalizing grade 2-3 rapids on its 4 hour journey downstream and through a stunning canyon with sheer rocks either side of the river which overflows with waterfalls. Pick-ups from Nadi Hotels available.
